Hi Mario.
Yes. Sock hops must be an American thing.
This style takes me back to when I was a kid. Santo & Johnny and all that. I remember saving up pocket money to buy "Sleep Walk" but by the time I did it was out of stock.

It's amazing what you can do with that keyboard. Well done.

Vic

Mario...this would have been a great movie track for one of the surfer movies of the '60s...it needs lyrics and Neil Sedaka with some girl backup singers...love the style (my generation) and your playing...sweet stuff man!

Thanx so much Vic. Back in the day I spent a lot of money on LPs! Today not so much.

Although sock hops were a little before my time, I've always enjoyed listening to this type of music. Good work that the lap steel and the sax. An authentic sound altogether!

I (Bud) remember them ... My younger wife has listened to the music of the period.
We both feel you nailed the vibe.

The presence of the steel is surprising but it definitely worked its way into the soundstage.

As always well performed and mixed and thanks for the memories!

Fun listen! smile

Sock hops are a bit before my time. As a kid, I remember getting the book Your Manners Are Showing by Betty Betz, and finding it a fascinating time capsule filled with drawings of crew cuts, poodle skirts and Coke bottles with paper straws...

Glad to hear you back on the EWI!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanx so much for listening and commenting. I am trying to emulate real instruments as close as I can using VSTs so it sounds like I am on the right path.

Sock hops and the stroll were a little before my time also. At 16 I was playing all those 50's song in a band where the other members where older. I love 50's music!

Thanx Dave. Even though I lived in a small town that was a couple of years behind every other town sock hop were before my time also.

Thanx to Stan, a person I have never met, and my neighbor, a computer hoarder, I was able to play an EWI again. One must have a XP computer to set up the EWI. I had a XP notebook that after a number of months of my EWI dying I recycled. Thankfully my neighbor had one.
