Unless you are really worried someone is going to steal something the registration of the copyright is not really required. All you need is proof you created it on the date you created it. You have the copyright as of that moment. There are many ways to do that. You are correct registering copyright on everything you create can get expensive unless you are making a living doing it, then you can deduct those fees of course.
