I haven't seen the original post (nor the comments on this one, I like to keep a "clean slate" in my mind, before I comment), but this had me from the first note. Brilliant. What writing, what a performance, what a production. The voice comes through as clear as crystal, the lyrics are there (in the foreground, as they should be) ... I'll say it: one of the best "complete package" songs I've heard on here. And that voice is the icing on the cake ... the irony in it carries through wonderfully. I don't know if the guitarist is BIAB or "real", but it's perfect the way it is, too. Congrats to all involved!

I listened to this when you first posted it in the other thread (sorry, didn't have time to comment then). I though that version was pretty excellent . . . I haven't gone back to read the suggestions you received on that post, but not matter . . . this is still an outstanding piece. Yeah, dark lyrics . . . but a slick production and a wonderful vocal by Allison. The harmonies are sweet as well. The guitar licks in the background really add depth and atmosphere. Great stuff folks!

Unexpected collaboration, I wouldn't have guessed who were behind the song without reading it. Everything works perfectly, gloomy blues with good instrumentation and mix. And the vocalist interprets the story like from her own experience.
