Russel,
Good song & Good grove. Vocals are perfectly fine, just needs minor mix tweaking to make them sit better. I +1 on reverb comment you received to make things more balanced. Thank you for sharing.

Welcome to the forum and the family.

My initial attraction to band in a box was also it's absolutely amazing steel guitar. Once I found out what it can do I was hooked.

I listened to the song and it's a good write. Your live playing is really well done as well. Nice clean acoustic sound. I didn't really hear a lot of issues with the mix. My nits are only a few. Personally, I'd bring the drums up a bit and give them more punch.
The vocals are good. The rockabilly feel to the song allows for the feel I got from the reverb echo. Again, personally, I would back off the FX and work on getting the vox in the same sonic space with the band and more up front.

The running time on the song approaches 6 minutes but it's a personal song so time limits don't apply in the same way they do for other reasons.

BTW.... Do you have a sawmill? It's a kind of hobby that I have and use for personal woodworking projects. I tend to cut a lot of firewood on it....

I enjoyed the fun, energy, and groove of your song.

Russell,

Way to step into the batter's box for your first one! You hit it out of the park! Everything sounds great to me! The vocal effect is different than I'm used to hearing but if that was what you were going for then cool!! This has the energy of an early Elvis tune kind of mixed with Clapton's Lay Down Sally! Highly enjoyable work! Thanks, TB
