FWIW, I use a file synchronisation tool to my machines in sync. I used to use Unison, but the Windows version was broken the last time I tried it. I'm presently using FreeFileSync, which seems a little more complicated but seems to work OK. There are several similar tools out there ... I tend to be biassed towards those that work on both Linux and Windows, as I use both platforms. Generally you can set up the paths to sync, file patterns to ignore, and they'll show file differences and synchronise both systems, asking when there's an ambiguity about what to change. Unison used to keep a record so it knew what had changed. I suspect FreeFileSync also does, but I've yet to check. I'm presently using it to keep my Songs folders synchonised.
