I was wondering if BIB can import a lead sheet or a music notation file and generate a backing track. Right now I type all chords in and then write in the melody using the notation function. Just looking for tricks to make life easier.

Hi Peter,
BIAB uses MIDI to create the lead sheet. With this in mind, if you have a MIDI melody, you can import that to the Melody track and a leadsheet will be created. BIAB will also import XML so it's possible that if notation was saved elsewhere, this could be imported in BIAB.

As I understand this, MIDI contains only the notes and BiaB has to interpret them to understand the chords, whilst MusicXML can contain the chord names, so MusicXML may be the better choice for just a chord sheet.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
