Nashville Notation is my favorite way of displaying chords in BiaB.

The problem is, BiaB doesn't allow me to choose whether to display a sharp chord or a flat chord on the chord sheet for the same chord.

Attached screenshot shows the chord progession of a song.

Orange
The 4# chord is displayed as a sharp chord, which is exactly what I want.

Blue
Here comes the problem. The 2b chord is displayed as a flat chord, and I don't want this. I tried to re-type "1#" in the slot, which is essentially the same chord, but after I hit enter, the chord automatically changes back to 2b. Tried this on the 3bm, 6b chords, got the same results.
What should I do?

Red
I right clicked on the Part Markers, added some "Bar Based Section Text". Although I changed my chord font to Arial font, these section labels are still displayed in the default Big Band font, which looks very unprofessional.
So, in BiaB, is there a way to change "Bar Based Section Text" to Arial font?

OK. Can PG Music staff take a look into this?

I tried again. When I used regular chord notation, everything worked fine, when I typed in a G#, it displayed a G#. When I typed in an Ab, it displayed an Ab.

When I used Nashville notation, doesn't matter whether I typed in a 5# or a 6b, it always displayed as 6b.

Every black key chord is displayed as flat (2b, 3b, 6b, 7b) except for the fourth, it is displayed as 4# instead of 5b.

Is there a workaround to fix it?

I really need all my chords displayed in sharp, not flat.

Or should I post it as a Wishlist item?

I believe the number of sharps and flats available in a Nashville Number chord sheet are related to whatever key signature is designated.

You are writing your chord sheet in a key signature of "G". The+++ G Major +++ scale has one sharp, F# and no flats.

What happens if you switch key signatures?

Would be the same thing. Look at the picture in my first post, the song is in the key of "C". Everything was displayed as flat (b), except for the 4#.

Doesn't matter what key signature, it is always the 4#, and 2b, 3b, 6b, 7b.

I really wish I could have everything displayed in #.

It might be worthwhile contacting PG Music Support? It seems like a program limitation rather than a user setting. I'm not sure.

Wild guess, since I never used Nashville Notation in BIAB or anywhere else:

Your problems occur in the key of C# and D#. In the circle of fifths, C# is 7 sharps but Db is only 5 flats. Most musicians would likely prefer seeing the piece written in Db rather than C#. D# is far worse: either '9' sharps (crazy) for D# or only 3 flats for Eb. Doesn't it make sense the program would choose the enharmonic with fewer accidentals?

Of course, more tests in more keys would show whether my suggestion is correct or not.

OK. I tested on all 12 keys. The results are same.

In music theory, C# and Db chords are exactly the same thing.

In BiaB, when you enter a C#, it displays C#. When you enter a Db, it displays Db. Simple.

Then you switch to Nashville Notation. When you enter 1#, hit enter, guess what? It displays 2b instead.

BiaB is like a lame auto correction tool, trying to force to auto correct on your typos, except it changes your correct words into typos instead, and you can't turn it off. Sigh.
