Yes, likewise.

2-5-1 is pretty much everywhere in jazz, at least where it's roots are in North America. It's interesting (to me, anyway), that quite a bit of Cape (Africa) jazz is 1-4-5, but that set-up is very familiar outside of jazz.

FWIW, I quite like the simpler songs, because it's easier to relax and to improvise. We often start our warm-ups with something like a straight 12-bar blues, precisely for that reason.
