Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi, Brad.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Now maybe I need to do something a bit more country! wink

I suspect the trick is to find something that matches the voice.

I shudder to imagine Ninezero singing country... But now I'll have to try it, if only for the LOLs. laugh

Hi, Ray!

Thanks for the corrections! What I've learned is that there's apparently no word that an Aussie doesn't think can't be improved by turning it into slang. wink

A favorite Tom Waits songs is "Town With No Cheer", with the lyric:

Quote:
now it's boilin' in a miserable March twenty-first
wrapped the hills in a blanket of Patterson's curse

Only he got the seasons a bit wrong, living up here in the Northern Hemisphere.

I considered asking someone to review this, and then figured it would be good for a giggle for someone what actually spoke the slang. A bit like listening to someone who almost, but doesn't quite pull of an accent. laugh

Hi David ...

I didn't hear the original version, but this one sounds great! Loved the lyric - put a big smile on my face!

That's the first Punk song I've heard in ages - nice reminder! You are so dang creative! What a treat!

Alan

Patterson's Curse is also called Salvation Jane...toxic and likely to cause problems for grazing stock but also a last gasp source for the same in drought as well as dry winters as it germinates in autumn. It's not as problematic as other introduced species like Prickly Pear, (now controlled well enough but took out far more pasture than the Curse), rabbits, (still in plague proportions every now & then) & the ever spreading Lantana & Cane Toads.
Oh, by te way the "dump" as in feeling down in the dumps refers to the municipal/regional refuse place..called the dump as in taking the junk from the shed and taking it to the dump...a case of verb becomes noun rather than the usual opposite.
Again, fun song.

Cheers

Yes, same as in the States.

What's ironic is there were a few words that I knew the correct pronunciation for, but I had a heck of a time getting Ninezero to say.

And yes - I decided to cheat at go with a few British expressions as well. smile
