As you're already a guitarist, I suspect you've got most of these sounds already.

I don't think it's worth the full price, but on sale, there are a few things that are nice to have.

The nice thing about UJAM is you get a month to make up your mind. Overpriced or not, that's a good deal.

Great work.

Ninezero has a very limited use, but I'm glad I was able to figure out something he'd be good at.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for listening!

Hi, Andi.

Thanks, it was a bit of a surprise to me as well.

I think the key when working with synthetic voices is - much like when using any synthetic instruments - you have to write to their strength. It's like that old joke:

Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I bend my arm like this!
Doctor: So stop bending your arm.

Thanks for listening and commenting!

Hi, Dani.

I'm happy to hear it. I was hoping I could start writing something more "pop" than my usual slow and sad style.

Glad this worked for you! smile

David,

Nice to hear someone doing some punk.
Mix sounds good - even turned up load (kudos).

(would have liked to hear a single snare hit to start this - the start is a bit abrupt - yea, I know it's Punk smile )

By the third listen this is deep enough into your brain to drive you crazy...
yea, I know it's Punk smile

Well, you may have waited till April but you sure arrived with a bang!

We missed out on V1 but this singer sounds great and the magic you do with fx have convinced us that he is REAL. smile

Love the sparse open mix - great drums!

One of our friends teaches RPM classes and she would love to use this song on repeat to get the class spinning. smile The band is really cooking and that guitar solo is hot!

“Don't got no worries mate [no worries = everything is fine]
Just feel a little strange
Can't take another day
Just need some change”

Yea, we can relate as we have rescheduled a vacation several times lately. wink

We also enjoyed the Aussie slang in your story. Cool!

Enjoyed it!

David,
sorry, late for the party. Very cool! It is funny, you mentioned Ray. My wife was close by and I gave her headphones... Her first reaction was: "Is this Ray's new tune?" smile
Awesome use of vocal synth. Whole tune is well thought out from composition to mix. Good drive. Enjoyed it and thank you for sharing!
Misha.

P.S. At first listen I didn't suspect it was a robo singer.

Dave,

This is a lot different than the stuff I've heard you post before, and I really got a kick out of it. I thought the writing was unique and really fun. I appreciated your interpretation, or else I probably wouldn't have known what you were talking about. The way you brought out the culture was fantastic. You had me smiling all the way through, and as you know I'm awful country, so that may sound weird for me to say about a punk song, but man, you did it!

Well, what I want to know is who kidnaped David Cuny and took over this post...lol

Actually, cool stuff David. I like all the down-under idiomatic expressions. Really good to see you post different sorts of stuff.

I, for one, have no idea the limit for AI vocals. The fact that this song could even be done is remarkable.

Cool stuff Mr. D

Interestingly the vocal reminds me, a little of Noel69 - the very useful, friendly, helpful BIAB stalwart.
Good song & good sounds, though you've been lead astray with some of the Strine:
We've quite a few regional/state variants of Strine as well as of pronunciation.

I been down in the skip [skip bin = large garbage container - a dumpster I think in the US - Down in the dumps - depressed/unhappy].

Don't care what the gullah says [gallah = loud, squawking, pilfering pink, grey & white parrot - pron. Gah laa. Used to describe a fool, meat head, fool]

Don't want no pozzy job [pozzy? Maybe posh (related to wealth), posey (as in posing/showing off, being a poser)]

Been down in the dustbin snorkeling about [garbage bin, bin, rubbish bin, otto bin, otto (based on the brand of modern bins) - dustbin is more English - back from Victorian times when the "dust" was collected for recycling]

Been looking for spare change , (referred to as shrapnel as in small bits of metal)

Going down the gurgler [gurgler = drain] POIFECK

Bucketing down I go [bucketing = pouring rain] Ace

No problem-o - yep.

Don't want no tommyrot [rot is the shortened term used most often those BS, & BULL are more popular]

Going off nine to five [going off = losing your nut, exploding OR really doing well as in my footy team are goin'off - all related to fireworks...crackers...I let off a bunger - should seen it go off!]

You can knock me dead [knock me dead = impress] yep.

Fun song never-the-less.
Gun tune mate, a cracker, coulda bin on the tranny or Countdown.
Good song friend, a really good one that could've been on the transistor radio, (very late 60s that one), or on the ABC pop program of the 70s and 80s Countdown.

Hi, floyd jane.

It was good to get out of my wheelhouse and do something a bit more rocking for a change.

Thanks for the nice words - it's always good to hear that a mix doesn't break up when cranked up! laugh

And you're right about the first snare hit - it's ska, after all! I'll have to fix that at some point.
