Wow. What can I say that hasn't been said already? Superb, in every way. Janice is a star - we know this already. The production is great - we are used to this, too. You all take on a different kind of song and make it your own - again, you have a track record of doing this. Sincerest congratulations - in short, you've done it again.

You know you've made it when people start covering your songs! Clever work-around apparently is to cover your own. Well played you three. Well. Played. crazy

Seriously, I'm diggin' how you made this all work! VERY cool. I'm I lazy if I say "all the usual comments apply." I mean, they do. Steller guitar. Steller vocals. Steller mix. I think the song could stand on it's own without the 3 of you. Add you three in and it's "hot damn!"

So this will be stuck in my head for a while. A LONG while. Not a complaint. That's an observational fact.

As usual, everything about this works.

Janice nailed the vocal, Peter the guitar, and Bud the mix. That kick drum comes through loud and clear, although I suspect it's actually mostly cajon.

In memory of the late, great David Lindley, I'll paste this bit in from the Wikipedia article:

Love hearing of your adventures in other genres, and I appreciate the detailed mix information! smile

It included a version of a similarly themed murder ballad, 'Banks of the Ohio'. I expect you know the song, recorded many times by many luminaries. Snakefarm's version, available on Spotify and YouTube, is one I reckon you guys would appreciate.

Thanks for the kind words Leon. At every bluegrass festival I attended for years at least one band would do Banks Of The Ohio. smile That is a BIG version of the song by Snakefarm. Gonna check them out further indeed. Thanks for that.

Nice hearing from you!

J&B,

"reggaeabilly" music historians will one day look back and credit J&B as the founders of the genre! While I never had the pleasure of hearing the original, I would say that you must be satisfied with this fine production! Janice's voice was made for this tune and delivers it with precision and a rich emotive quality! Loved the guitar work! It's an extremely good production that will surely garner many, many listens!

Thanks, TB

Fantastic collaboration on a unique interpretation of a classic...which, by the way, you did it justice and then some! Bluegrass is my favorite genre of all-time, so I am def familiar with this tune. Great guitar licks, vocals, and arrangement.

Thank you! It was a fun trip ... sorta like falling off a cliff at times smile What the heck do we know about reggae?

I got the hypnotic feel to these tune as well. Very cool vocals and call backs Janice. Pulls you right into the song. Peters variax was very cool. Would love to have one those. A real swiss army knife.

Awesome production Bud. Loved this tune. Well done

Thanks David. That is a great alternative ending. Poor Willie!

Lindley was great indeed.

We appreciate the kind remarks Torrey. Having listened to scores of bluegrass versions and performed it as such it was quite an adventure attempting this.

Thanks!
