The Eurovision Song Contest is probably not very well known outside of Europe. And even over here in the Netherlands, it's not always that popular ;-).
However, in 2019 Duncan Laurence won for the Netherlands with his song Arcade. This year he did a co-write on the Dutch contribution for 2023: Burning Daylight.
There was a bit of a "scandal" over here because the singers didn't do so well with preliminary live performances. This mostly had to do with technical issues. But just to make sure they changed the song's arrangement and key signature for the final performance in Liverpool on the 13th of May.
However, I strongly prefer the initial version (Official Video). It hit me like a brick! Both the singers and the producers are doing an excellent job here. Take a listen, and take note of how the versatile and dynamic arrangement builds up and ends very tenderly. It is really awesome!
