Lovely piece...the slightly rough edge to the violin gives it extra texture and makes it cut through the mix even more. Hi Ray ... Country fiddle tracks almost always have a somewhat "crusty" edge to them. I could have selected from the "violin" tracks - vs "fiddle" tracks, but this particular track gave me the melodic feel I was looking for. So, I agree, that edge gives it a bit of character.
