This is SO beautiful. It's so melodic, it just carries one from note to note. Stunning lyrics, really great interpretation. Wow. I really enjoyed how this song went from a wonderful instrumental to this amazing song (and cool video). Allison has such an enjoyable voice. The mix is superb. Pianos! Steels! Nice vocals!
The melody and the lyrics gave this a feel-and-sound of a theme song to a 60's "mod" movie.

Thanks Dave, Yes the 2nd as a vocalist but Alison played cello on two tracks, We & Barrow Creek, last year. Partnership - I flooded with the debt I have to her for favours. I've nothing to offer her but I super happy she ignores that and joins in.

Alison really completed the package here, Ray. Her lovely vocal with yours almost like a silhouette with hers is perfect for the story of the lyric.
And the section before the last when it is just you singing was very effective.
Once again, the steel is such a good instrument for this song. Nice!

Ray, Alan, Alison This turned out very nice. Alison done justice on this tune. Very melodic. Beauty. Musical bed is great for this piece. Good choices on instruments. Critical suggestions from amateur: I think too much d'esser was used on the vocals as some tails seem to be a bit cut off. Also, I think drums sound a bit distant and flat. Bass can definitely come up a bit more. "With a REAL voice." LOL. That is funny. While vocal synth tech getting pretty sophisticated, and surely there are case uses... but I enjoy recording myself or other humans even if its very far from perfect  Thank you for sharing. Misha.

Thank you all for all those very nice comments. Ray did the heavy lifting on this after I sent him the original music tracks. He and Alison gave it a new life. Without them, it would still be just a decent instrumental.

A short summary of the background story: I posted this as an instrumental track several weeks ago. Ray PM'd me and said the melody was more or less stuck in his head and asked if he could attempt a lyric for it. I said, "Of course" Just a day or two later he had a lyric and did the first vocal cut. Ray and I agreed the song would be stronger with a female voice. He convinced Alison to sing it for us. She agreed and that put the icing on the cake. Thanks for the listen and nice words! Alan
