So I created a simple Blues progression and using CROONR2.STY as my Real Track. Not sure how to word this all exactly but the bass line starts out fine as in what you would expect to here in a blues progression but then at the 4th bar it starts to play something different then kinda comes back to a bass line you would expect and then gets "funky" again. The drums do the same thing starts off with a nice jazz brush sound then starts playing some random sounding drum sound and not the continued sound from the beginning. It's like it's making up it's own parts and turns that don't fit in the song at all. I guess another way to describe it is imagine playing in a band and the drummer and bass just kinda go off for a little bit then come back to the sound then veer off some more then come back. Just looking for a simple bass line and drum beat the way it starts not whatever it's doing. I have noticed this on other songs I have created but hasn't bothered me as they were my own style of progression but now that I'm using a blues progression were I'm expecting the drums and bass to play their grooves throughout its really annoying. Just looking for a straight groove.Thanks.

The first thing to try when BiaB acts up is to go to options/return to factory settings. That usually solves problems like you're experiencing.

I would add... you didn't give any of the stats on the computer, OS, or the sound card and driver you are using. That can possibly help us narrow things down a bit when we know what you're working with.

Any time you have weird stuff going on..... here's what I do.

1. Save the project immediately
2. close and restart the program. See if that fixes it.
3. If not.... solo the tracks and see if the funkyness is in the tracks soloed.
4. If not.... copy the chords to the entire song. Delete the entire project and open a new project and paste the chords.
5. See if that fixes it.

fortunately, this kind of thing doesn't happen very often. I've only had to resort to step 4 a couple of times in a decade and a half of using this program.

Oh and don't forget to check your buffers and latency. Most often the default settings are perfectly fine if you have good hardware and using the correct drivers.

Good advice above. Here's a different approach.

BIAB may actually be doing what it's designed to do by default. The random generator may be bringing in perfectly good patterns to vary things and hold your interest, but you don't want it to do that. Here are two things to try:

1. If you like the pattern of the A substyle (the blue part marker), but in the middle choruses of the song it starts playing something more 'busy' (what the green part marker causes), that is normal but you can turn it off. Go to Options, Preferences, Arrange, Overrides. Uncheck "Vary Styles in Middle Choruses". While you are there, look at all the checkboxes below, where you can Force a track or tracks to Simple Arrangement. Experiment, and regenerate the song each time.

2. When you click on a RealTrack in the mixer, go to Select another RealTrack. Select the same one but this time look for a checkbox that says Simpler, and check it. Do this for each RealTrack that is causing problems for you. Note that not all of them have this option.

Then, there is always the audio editor/DAW/cut and paste approach as mentioned. But the above tips may make the original more like what you want.

Thanks everyone some good stuff here. Matt I think your on to what I'm talking about. I removed a bunch of the substyle arraignments and it worked well for the drums. The bass a little better but still hitting odd notes when doing chord changes ie... I to IV for example . I will try the rest of your suggestions probably latter tonite. I appreciate the help everyone.

If you are getting weird notes and chords that are just not sounding right for the song..... check you be sure the default key that's set is the same key you are writing in.
