Hey Dewey, I found this to be a nice country "she left him song".

At first I thought the vibe was too happy and upbeat for a breakup song, but once the lyrics kicked in it all came together and made sense.
Great vocal work too, I especially liked the harmonies.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Bass Thumper, thanks for listening and commenting on the prosody. That was one item I was wondering about so if you're good with it, then I'm happ!

Dewey, this one of the happiest break up songs I have ever heard, and that it a very good thing.

Outstanding lyrics!

Great vocal, backing band, and mix.

Loved it.

OK, a random thought;

Dewey,
your voice sells this - a road worn, slightly cracked, character filled sound.
mind you there's not much selling required in a sad joyful tune like this.
Excellent.

Cheers

Love this, Dewey. Right from the catchy title. The happy melody somehow fits a breakup song. Those harmonies are perfect. Who wouldn't love a gal who breaks up and makes you feel good? I like the response vocals at the end. Well done with contagious chorus.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Dewey,

A solid write, a solid production.
There is a "sameness" to the production throughout. Something to break that up? A drop of some kind, somewhere? Just a "little thing".
Good mix.

Floyd, thank you for your input! I apologize, but I do not know what 'a drop' is. Could you please elaborate?

A "drop" - most of the instrument "drop" out to leave a very sparse (production) section.
Often only one instrument (plus vocal) plays during the drop - an acoustic guitar, a bass, a synth, a beat, etc.
It's prevalent in Pop music - to the poain of being rather cliche.
Country music has used it heavily, as well, over the last few years...

For your production it needn't be that dramatic... maybe pull down to an acoustic guitar, a very simple bass and just a kick (just an idea).
Basically a "production breather" that will help to "refresh" your listener's ears...

Floyd, gotcha! I've always heard of 'the drop' when used in the chorus as the "breakdown chorus". Great idea! I'll drop the first two lines and build it back to full for the last chorus. Na zdrowie! Dewey

Nice production for sure.

Your vocal is perfect for the delivery.

We have always thought that juxtaposing a happy vibe with a sad lyric can be an effective way to bring it all home.

Good RT selection and mix.

Well done!
