Forever And All TimeThis is one Di and I wrote and recorded 8 years ago, and posted on Soundcloud about 2 years later, but never posted on the forum for some reason. I don't have the RTs and drum tracks as they're on my old computer, which is several hundred miles from me (it's still in my ownership, just not here at home). But it's all BIAB, other than my vocal. When I mastered it, the vocal came a little more forward in the mix than the original. Hope you might like it. Alan (Should I be able to find the RTs on a thumb drive here at the house, I'll post them). Forever And All Time (c) 2014 Alan D. David, BMI / Diana Bowers, BMI (V1) As the Earth spins 'round each day and autumn leaves will fall And as the birds sing their song, and the pines are green and tall While mountains reach for the sky, and water seeks the shore I'll love you dear through all of that, through that and so much more CHORUS Eternity's forever, and that's what I have in mind That's how long I'll love you dear, forever and all time INSTRUMENTAL BREAK (V2) As long as my two nickels, are equal to a dime And verses to a pretty song, somehow will always rhyme As rivers flow to the sea, and two plus two is four I'll love you dear through all of that, through that and so much more CHORUS Eternity's forever, and that's what I have in mind That's how long I'll love you dear, forever and all time INSTRUMENTAL BREAK - ONE LINE TAG That's how long I'll love you dear, forever and all time

Mornin' Al....
I'm not a love songs/relationships kind of guy but I like the lyrics and the song is well constructed. This is a good write and I dig the the jazzy, easy flowing vibe. Your vox fits the style and it's well performed.
Hope all is well.
Well done!

Alan,
This is a great song. Love your vocal and the arrangement. That's an awesome horn break in the middle.
This could be a standard! Excellent!

Bob Hi Bob ... You are very kind with your comments. I agree with you about the trumpet solo - it was everything I hoped for plus, not only a bag of chips, but some pretzels, too! A standard? Wouldn't that be nice! Thanks so much ... Alan

This is timeless, Alan (pun of sorts intended). Not familiar with Steve Tyrell (I'll look him up) but I can easily imagine Sinatra et al singing this. Lovely work. Regards, Leon

Great style and production choices for this throw-back era song! Very sweet lyrics and vocals fit the sentiment.

Great style and production choices for this throw-back era song! Very sweet lyrics and vocals fit the sentiment. Hi Dewey ... Thanks for the listen and the very nice comments. This is a style I grew up with (born in the 1940s). I like much of the contemporary music, but I still have a soft spot for the old standard. I'm a mediocre vocalist, but sometimes I get close. Glad you liked it. Alan

Hi Alan,
Times as they were... You and Di wrote it together, what a nice thought! I listened with joy to this nice song and the lovely words.
Your vocals were very good! But I thought you recorded your vocals recently and not 8 years ago. I did not read that well. In that case I had hoped (a bit) to hear Di too. She could not have been silent with such beautiful words in the text. I can recall hearing her voice in a song you posted some years ago.
Have a very nice day, Hans

Oh, love that old sound. Such fun chord progression. Excellent band, and well arranged. Perfect lyrics for the style and so well sung, Alan. I'm on headphones and hear a popping in the vocal --not the Sss sibilance so prevalent in my singing, but a popping on the Ts and Ps. When listening on the speakers I hear no such thing. Much enjoyed.

Alan, Nice. A really pleasant listen. A very nice backtrack. Nice vocal. Has the feel of a Jack Jones hit. Or Vic Damone. (or any one of those interchangeable guys ) fj

Have a very nice day, Hans Hi Hans ... We're very happy you enjoyed the song. I recorded the vocal at the same time we wrote the song eight years ago. I'll look and see if I said anything confusing. If so, I'll correct it. Di couldn't sing at that time as she was recovering from a really bad stroke. So, you got stuck with me singing! Thank you again for the very nice comments. Take care, my friend. Alan

Much enjoyed. Hey Marty ... We love these old standards, and we've written a dozen or so of them. It's one of our very favorite genres to compose and perform in. I wish I had the list of tracks here with me, but I just don't. The popping you here is actually in my throat. I saw an otolaryngologist in St. Louis about 15 years ago, when I was only a youngster of 61 years (hee hee!), and he said one of my vocal cords was slightly malformed. He explained it gave me a somewhat monotoned voice, limit my vocal range significantly, and possibly make my vocal cords produce mildly discernable squeaky, poppy sounds. It's a long story, but I injured my throat in an accident in 2009. I used to have a pretty nice, smooth, fairly deep voice before that. If I could post some of the early recordings on one of the forums here, I would. But they're cover songs, so I probably shouldn't. But if you heard them, I doubt you would even recognize it was me. I had a smooth baritone voice back them. And not too pitchy, either! Anyway, I appreciate all the nice words and kindness. Many thanks! Alan

Alan & Di Smooth tune. Good lyrics & well performed. Excellent arrangement, which is your signature. Slight vocal pops, other than that, super clear mix. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for those kind words. Several years ago, I posted a different "old standard" in which we brought up the Vic Damone thing. Nice to hear it again! Many thanks! Alan
