Hey Marty ...

We love these old standards, and we've written a dozen or so of them. It's one of our very favorite genres to compose and perform in. I wish I had the list of tracks here with me, but I just don't.

The popping you here is actually in my throat. I saw an otolaryngologist in St. Louis about 15 years ago, when I was only a youngster of 61 years (hee hee!), and he said one of my vocal cords was slightly malformed. He explained it gave me a somewhat monotoned voice, limit my vocal range significantly, and possibly make my vocal cords produce mildly discernable squeaky, poppy sounds. It's a long story, but I injured my throat in an accident in 2009. I used to have a pretty nice, smooth, fairly deep voice before that. If I could post some of the early recordings on one of the forums here, I would. But they're cover songs, so I probably shouldn't. But if you heard them, I doubt you would even recognize it was me. I had a smooth baritone voice back them. And not too pitchy, either!

Anyway, I appreciate all the nice words and kindness. Many thanks!

Alan
