I am trying to isolate a guitar part with just the chords to record to DAW but there seems to be another Solo/Tenor guitar riffing along at the same time that I can't seem to mute. It is not associated to any track and it is not the soloist generating it because the soloist dialog says there is no soloist currently playing. So where is it coming from?

It was not doing this in the beginning, I could solo the Guitar chords without hearing any lead or Tenor. I have tried resetting to factory defaults. How can I obtain a clean unaltered version of the style. I may have to uninstall everything and do a clean install from scratch.

Help Any body!!!

Look in the mixer. Is there another track playing? You may need to click on the ‘eye’ icon to see all tracks. I would suspect the audio track from your description. Did you render the song? If you have any audio file (MP3 or WAV) of the same name in the same folder as your BIAB song, you will hear both.

I did fiddle a bit with the BREEZTC.sty jazz funk a bit which is the one going wrong. I hit the eye at the bottom, then show all tracks. There are no tracks playing that I am unaware of. I dont think I rendered anything. So I am not sure why I have the Guitar sound that is just there and I cant turn off.

As Matt mentioned, have a look at all files in the folder that your song is created in. If you find an audio file there, rename it, and then see if the background guitar stops playing.

I think I know exactly what you're talking about. It has occurred in some of my projects.

It sounds like 2 guitars in a single generated track. When you mute all the tracks except that one, it still sounds like there are two instruments playing on it. I have encountered that myself on a few projects. I do not recall the song project or the style or the track. If I recall correctly, even the tone of the 2 guitars was different suggesting that it was a second guitar in the track vs the same guitar playing it all. Is that what you're hearing as well?

In my case, the main guitar sound was a good match for the song, but.... the background guitar sound on that track was not at all what I was looking for in the song and was quite distracting. It changed the entire feel of the song, and not in the direction I wanted.

My solution, and the only one I could come up with, was to choose a different track. I chose a similar guitar instrumental real track, generated it, and replaced the first one, and that seemed to solve the issue.

If Herb is right and it really is a problem on that particular RealTrack, give us the details: what is the RealTrack number and name? Did you select any options like Simple or Double-time? Does it happen throughout the song, or on just the A or B substyle, or on a particular chord?

We can test it and, if needed, report this to the developers.

You should be able to deduce the RT from that.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

True, I saw the style name, but what assurance do we have there is another guitar on the guitar track and not on some other instrument track? Plus what about the other questions.

I don't have it either.

Maybe he meant Braze? That is a funk style.

I think he meant BREEZYC.STY

That is the only other style that starts with BREEZ and has 7 letters in it. Could have been a mis-type by the OP since the letter T is right next to the letter Y on the keyboard. That style is a Jazz-Funk style.

Good sleuth work, JC. The letters T and Y are directly adjacent on the keyboard.

Now, if only the O/P would come back and provide an update on some of the questions.

The BREEZYC.ST shows a disabled Calliope Lead Midi instrument on the Melody Track. While it's not a guitar sound, the poster states hearing a "Solo/Tenor guitar riffing along". At some point the patch may have been changed and a glitch possibly remains.

I'll see if I can find what I was working on. I think I remember the project.... but I did change the style so it might take a bit to find it again.

EDIT:

So I opened the file I was thinking about. It contains _BROOK.sty which has the following

Drums P&W uptempo
Bass 1268
Piano 1277
Guitar 1 3632
Guitar 2 3634

I soloed Guitar 1 3632 because it sounds like there's 2 guitars in that. One that's got a chug groove and the other is playing the higher notes. It sounds like it's playing at the same time. Kinda like listening to some ZZ Top where there's 2 guitars happening at the same time and you know it's only The Reverend on the guitar by himself.... or supposed to be.

See if anyone else hears that happening or am I not hearing it correctly?
So in the end.... I opted to use a different track on this song for the guitars. The chug was cool but the high stuff was not fitting the groove.
