Hello I am trying to acheive this : I am a wind controller player (EWI NuRAD...) I would like to use the Audio Modeling instruments Sax, Flutes, Trumpets Trombones ... to play in harmony with Band In A Box I have problem to set the instruments to the Harmony Midi Chanels How can I manage to set the VST's to the Harmony midi chanels and have them change when changing the harmony This will be extremely realistic but for the time being I can only play one instrument at a time Any solution will be apreciated (sorry for my english hope this is understandable) Regards Fred
I’ll be following this thread because I use the SWAM instruments, but I’ve only used them in my DAW. I need to look up the format by which they are supplied, because BIAB only accepts VST not VST3.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
OK, I just looked up the specs, and SWAM instruments all support both VST and VST3, as long as you have updated to Version 3 of each instrument. So in theory it should work. On my system, SWAM is very CPU-intensive when I load a lot of them, such as for a big band jazz ensemble. Adjusting your audio buffer may be required.

I think his issue may be with the Thru harmonies. I often set these for playing real-time harmonies. There does not seem to be a mechanism to separate the harmonized voices to different channels/instruments. In the "Edit Harmonies"there is an "A,B or C" channel nomenclature. I'm not sure what that indicated. Anyway, once recorded, the harmonized line can be assigned easily in RealBand.
But as far as harmonizing "live" it seems one voice (patch) at a time is the rule for VSTs.
I thought harmony Chanel’s were 11, 12, 13, 14 I thought it would be possible to have something like this Ch Thru = Alto Sax 1 Harmony ch Ch11 = Ténor Sax 2 Ch12 = Alto Sax 3 Ch13 = Ténor Sax 4 Ch14 = Baritone Sax 5
This way we have a full Sax section But I don’t know how to assign each Vst to these Chanels
I'm not sure where those channels are defined, but I'd never seen a lot of options for the "patches" that harmonies use. My best results have been to use libraries like Session Horns, MOJO, or Straight Ahead Jazz Horns and set them to arrange the voices. This is the only solution I've found for "Live" plating. Real Band could probably do anything once a tune is saved with harmonies.
This is fine but the probleme is to get e.g. SWAM Tenor Sax (2nd voice) attached on CH 11 SWAM Alto Sax (3rd voice) attached on CH12 SWAM Tenor Sax (4th voice) attached on CH13 SWAM Baritone Sax (5th voice) attached on CH14
The SWAM Alto Sax (1st voice ) will be set to the Thru Chanel this way you have the 5 voices to play live
