Motifs are closely related to MicroChords - it really is a "sub-feature" of MicroChords. It allows you to have a rhythmic pattern for any or all instruments, that may repeat through your song. It may use the same chord as the 'underlying' chord at that bar, or you may use different chords which are entered into the MicroChords dialog. You can open the dialog easily by typing M [enter] at any bar of the Chord sheet.
Tobin has a great segment on this in the BiaB 2022 "Boot Camp" video, which I will link to below. You should watch the MicroChords section starting at 1:08:15, since you can't understand Motifs without understanding MicroChords.
