Hi Janne, Hans, glad to hear you're back! And with a very strong story about the sad reality we're living in touches me, "don't wait another day". You are master of great arrangements and this is no exception. I love the calm verses and how they are still different from each other. And then the powerful and emotional chorus kicks in and on each repeat just grows stronger, in the end the heavy guitar really creeps on my spine. I wish that could have been a long heavy guitar solo to end. Even short bass solo part, great! Lovely chord progression also, so much sadness, I like how the acoustic solo guitar plays. Great vocal, I hope you don't lose it, I wish you all the best for the surgery!
Janne What nice words you wrote to me! I saw you also wrote nice words on That Night, but I wasn't able to respond then and I didn't want to later on (but not a all because of you) I've heard some songs from you on SoundCloud, but I wasn't on the Forum. Let me just tell you, I was impressed by your beautiful arrangements and AI-vocals. And now you are telling me about my arrangements... We could shake hands! Thanks a lot and sorry a lot for my silence, Tomorrow the surgery will start. I hope all goes well, but with messages like yours it must be! Hans

Hi, Hans. I'm not a huge fan of spoken word in a song, but I'm always willing to make an exception. This works well and the arrangement keeps my attention. Nice work! But in the Netherlands they think i am, so that is nice. Ha!

I like the alternation between narration and vocals, it creates a nice contrast between verses and chorus and makes the song very interesting. Really well done.
I wish you all the best for your surgery and hope everything goes well.

Hans,
First off, sorry to hear about the health challenge; I hope the suregery goes well and am sending good thoughts your way.
The song is excellent. The vocal sits so well in the mix. Like that acoustic lead guitar a lot— had to look at the RT. I’ve sued it before, but it never sounded that good. Chorus is really catchy; BGVs in chorus are outstanding.
Just brilliant!
My very best to you,
Deej

Hi everyone, I was away some time. It will happen again soon. I won't go much into details but I need to undergo some surgery. Of course I don't like that and it is hunting my mind for some time. It has something to do with my throat, so I hope I will still be able to sing after that. Update: I had that surgery. Now it looks as if I had a visit from IS. A large cut in my throat... Can't say if everything is ok. It is very painful and I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks before I can tell the surgery was a succes or not.
Still I was busy making new songs or updating songs I made some years ago. But I didn't visit this forum. I'm really sorry for that. I hope I can catch up with the songs you all made. Don't be mad if that will take some time. I love your skills for making them. My wife said she was amazed how high your skills (and the quality of your songs) are. I can only agree. That brings me to this song. It is a remix of my song in 2019, but I changed a lot and also the lyrics. So, in a way, it's a new song. It's also concerning the state of our earth and we, like some other songs I made recently. The lyrics can be found on SoundCloud at this link: Change The Road, https://on.soundcloud.com/AUSCdIt was a real challenge to start with spoken words in English. All native speakers in that language will hear immediatly I'm not that native at all. But in the Netherlands they think i am, so that is nice. Let me know if you like it or why not, Enjoy, Hans The technical stuff Style is _BREATH.STY (Breath Celtic Pop Ballad), Key Em RealTracks in style: 1759:Bass, Electric, Pop16ths Ev 085 RealTracks in style: 2870:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm CelticAirDave Ev 085 RealTracks in song: 1814:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking CelticAir Ev 085 RealTracks in song: 2337:Violin, Background, PopHigh Ev 085 (1TrackStringSection) RealTracks in song: 833:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm AltCountryMoody Ev 075 (A:held) RealTracks in song: 3321:Guitar, Acoustic, Soloist RnBPopDblBrent Ev 055 RealDrums in style:NashvilleEven8^1-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride In Logic Pro I did a lot on the vocals and the instruments.

Hi Leon, Andi and Misha, At first, in my post above I added an update on the surgery. I can't recommend it to you. It was a nasty thing and lasted 3,5 hours. Still, the next day I could go home again. Then your comments, thanks for them. I appreciated them a lot Good song, Hans. Totally agree with the message. And I hope your surgery goes well. Regards, Leon Leon, I think the surgery went well, and nice to read what you think about the message in the song! We have to do something... Hello Hans Hope you are well There you have written an extremely good song Sounds so good. Vocals, background track just top Absolutely brilliant chorus 2:43 is excellent The whole song structure is really a pleasure for the ears ;-) Congratulations Hans Many greetings Andi ;-) Andi, what a nice post. I'm very flattered by them. Thanks a lot!!! Hans, I hope that medical thing goes smoothly.
Super tune! One of the most complex tunes I have heard by you. Very cool arrangement. Strong vocals & good lyrics. I like your transitions from spoken word to open singing. Mix is a bit on a high end, but doesn't bother me on this one. Really well done. Thank you for sharing.
Misha. Misha, well, what a nice compliment from you! Very sorry I still had too much high end. I haven't heard that, but I believe you right away. I think my eardamage (on the high end) tricks me on that. Even when I lowered the eq of my vocals on that spot I still manage to be too high. Keep me sharp on it, Misha. By the way, for some time I use all fabfilter plug ins again. I have them all now. Thank you all and have a nice day, Hans

Hans,
I'd be pleased to be able to speak any 2nd language HALF as well (or 1/10th as well) as you speak/sing English. It is impressive.
A beautiful opening! That's a very cool acoustic. The violin works. GOOD vocals!! The acoustic lead works well for the song/production. Drums sounds really good.
A thoughtful arrangement. EXCELLENT Mix. An important message.
This is Really Good! You have come a long way on this musical journey. Top of the mountain. So good.
I wish you well. Health and happiness.

Hi Scott, Janice and Bud, Dan (Firesong) and Bass Thumper, I'm so sorry it took so long to gave you my reply, but the operation took place, At first it looked a bit painful, but not that much. But the next 2 weeks were horrible. Never before have I been in so much pain. And the surgeons said that could last a very long time. They mentioned a year at least... But today I had a 'good' day. So I could give my reply. I really appreciate your contribution! Hi Hans. I hope everything goes ok for you. Would be sad not to hear your vocals in the future. This was a very cool song. Loved the spoken word. Very dramatic and showcases the lyrics. Well done.. Scott, although I have to get through the day with all kinds of painkillers and have to sleep in a sitting position, it's getting a bit better now. I think your wish must have helped! Thank you for the compliments on the song. Especially about the 'spoken words'. I thought I had to do that, but normally it's no5t my taste. It is a test if I could get out of my groove... John, we mean Hans, we’ve missed you and what a strong lyric and performance you’ve brought with your return ! We hope all goes well with your surgery and that you return better than ever quickly. The dynamics in this are awesome and reflect the complacency surrounding the subject as well as the urgency for change. The arrangement is very effective with the spoken word transitions to singing and solos. The piano was lovely. That is a great mix! Perfect soundstage on the monitors. The drums pop! Outstanding piano track. Your English sounds just fine to us also as does the entire vocal track. Powerful! J&B J&B, about the operation and so on, read what I wrote above. It will take a long time for things to heal, but at least I'm on my way back! What a nice compliment you gave to me! I even felt a bit like 'a' John... Hans...this is an excellent production in so many ways...it's message, the dynamics, the spoken and sung interchange, the vocals, instrumentation and arrangement are all very pro sounding and I really enjoyed each aspect of this fine piece of music! I wish you the best for your surgery...Dan Dan, thanks a lot for your very nice comment! That felt very nice... Hans, this is great from top to bottom. Nothing wrong with your English at all. Loved the acoustic guitar solo and the bass and e-guitar at the end. I envisioned a massive outdoor eco-concert with thousands in the crowd and you at center stage. Top shelf in every aspect.
PS> Everything will go well with your medical issue man. And then you'll be back writing great stuff again. Bass Thumper, what nice of you to say all this. In that vision I can see you standing as a highlighted member of the band doing this all ;-) Well thanks everyone and I try to catch up with al your songs! Have a nice day, Hans

Hi David C, B.D. Thomas, Deej and Floyd, As I wrote in my reply from yesterday, I am very sorry it took some time to respond to your so nice posts and why that was! But in a way I'm back now. David Hi, Hans. I'm not a huge fan of spoken word in a song, but I'm always willing to make an exception. This works well and the arrangement keeps my attention. Nice work! But in the Netherlands they think i am, so that is nice. Ha! David, I feel a bit the same about those 'spoken words', but it was my challenge to do it for two reasons; 1) for a non native speaker it is a challenge to do it, and 2) I've never made songs like this and I often like to get out of my groove. Maybe to avoid staying in one... ;-) And I'm very happy you were so willing to listen to it enthough it's not your piece of cake. Thanks! I like the alternation between narration and vocals, it creates a nice contrast between verses and chorus and makes the song very interesting. Really well done.
I wish you all the best for your surgery and hope everything goes well. B.D., what a nice compliment, thanks! And about that operation: It's behind my back now, but man, I certainly can't recommend it!!! Hans, First off, sorry to hear about the health challenge; I hope the suregery goes well and am sending good thoughts your way.
The song is excellent. The vocal sits so well in the mix. Like that acoustic lead guitar a lot— had to look at the RT. I’ve sued it before, but it never sounded that good. Chorus is really catchy; BGVs in chorus are outstanding. Just brilliant!
My very best to you, Deej Deej, I think your good thoughts helped me get trough that process. I still have my voice, but don't know yet if it can be used for singing. Anyway not now! But I made two songs before it all happened. An English and a Dutch song. You will probably hear them soon. And thanks a lot for your wonderful compliments. I am busy learning to improve my mixing and so to read I am making progress on that road! Hans, I'd be pleased to be able to speak any 2nd language HALF as well (or 1/10th as well) as you speak/sing English. It is impressive.
A beautiful opening! That's a very cool acoustic. The violin works. GOOD vocals!! The acoustic lead works well for the song/production. Drums sounds really good.
A thoughtful arrangement. EXCELLENT Mix. An important message.
This is Really Good! You have come a long way on this musical journey. Top of the mountain. So good.
I wish you well. Health and happiness. fj Floyd, wow, that's a huge compliment I got from you! And although you said so, I don't think I'm on that mountain yet. I'm still climbing, but you made clear it isn't in the wrong direction! Don't hesitate to tell me if that happens in another song... Gentlemen, you gave me a very good feeling with your comments! I feel honored... Hans
