Hello Bob,
A very wonderful song from your hand.
While listening to it, all the time I had an image of Neil Young in my head.
i thinlk it is that special way you sing this song.
Word like "My father would spin, etc" underlinded that feeling of mine.
I am quite exited by it.
While typing these words I played it again and again.
I think I fell in love with this song...
I hope you see it as a compliment, cause it is!

I think I'listenen to it 10 times yesterday. And till now 3x.
I told you, fell in love with that song of yours.
I only have one serious complain; it is MUCH too short!!!

Without question, one of your best . . . beautifully written and performed. What I find really interesting about this song is the melody of that final title line “When morning rises over New York”. It concludes each verse, but it actually could serve as the first line of a chorus . . . that is, there’s a part of me that hears that melody continuing in chorus like fashion. As a songwriter, it’s probably where I would have gone. But your choice here is wonderful and creative and really accentuates that very appealing hook. Really well done in that regard, and it’s what separates the ordinary from the great. Excellent tune!

We enjoyed the passage of time through the verses with the different music listening mediums. Bud grew up listening to a transistor and tube radio in his bed and Janice grew up listening to her clock radio. “And the sky saw a new streak of light.” We love that line. Vocals sound great. The steel guitar weeps wonderfully. Excellent drums ... nice snare pop. Great mix and track choice. The arrangement is stellar ... so engaging. Enjoyed it! J&B
