I think it's a good song, but I wouldn't sing it as a duet. It's a "guy after breakup" song, so kick the girl out of the chorus. Asterian can easily carry this song home on his own.

Janne, Looks like you are going through deja vu cycle. I think it is the opposite of "cliche" and aimed to inspire to be creative rather than use cookie cutter templates. Cool idea, very well constructed tune. Vocal melody sounds "familiar", but yet very original Very good effort and clear mix. Enjoyed it and thank you for sharing. Misha. Thanks Misha for your kind and positive comment deja vu, yeah, I just read some tv/movie reviews and most of the complaints were that the idea had already been used, so probably that is the future for all art, there is no more room for original ideas (so it doesn't matter whether AI or human has generated the art...). And the familiar feeling is more and more present, this melody reminded me of... another song of mine whose melody I "got" in a dream, so ideas seem to come from the mysterious subconscious level... Janne

"No more no more no more no more if I've felt one I have felt them all. No heart needs to bleed sow the gracious seed"
What a powerful statement ... yes!
We liked the irony of the soft, mellow band and vocals with the lyric shouting an “I can’t take it any more!” attitude.
We think you nailed the Waits vibe.
The BiaB session crew did a great job (excellent solo) as did you with the mix.
Well done,
J&B Thanks Janice & Bud for your pleasant comment Glad to notice that you understood the irony and Waits vibe. Janne

Love hearing songs using vocal a vocal synth and appreciate the amount of work it takes to make them sound good. I have used Vocaloid and Emvoice 1 (trial version limited to 7 notes). I've now heard a few songs using Synthesizer V and think it is worth checking out (for someone like me who has more bad days than good days with my own voice.)
Your song is very interesting and not at all mainstream. Thanks for posting. Mark Thanks Mark for your nice feedback I can fully recommend Synthesizer V, the quality is amazing compared to Vocaloids and it is very easy and quick to get an excellent vocal track. Janne

Asterian as Tom Waits? Ha! Interesting collection of instruments and voices - it worked for me! Thanks David for your nice comment I hope there will be Tom Waits knob in SynthV one day or you could buy your favorite knob Janne

I am enjoying your songs for a long time now. This one is great too! I love the lyrics and the rhymes in it. Very clever! At first I thought it was my voice after I changed to a lower key and forgot to change my vocals accordingly in BiaB (f7) But this is very nice. When the harmony vocals came in at 'No more, no more' I had to smile, because I liked that very much.
I also heard another song from you recentl, but not on the forum. I have to find out what it is called, but it was also beautiful. I'm coming back o that one. I noticed you're getting more handy with the AI-vocals with every song. But what I liked most are the songs themselves. Your creativity is increasing at 'god speed'.
Very good! Hans
Thanks Hans for your very pleasant review of my song I hope you'll enjoy my coming songs also, even if my creativity is decreasing Janne

Thanks B.D. for your kind comment Well, these themes are universal, that's why I thought it would be okay to have a female vocalist in the chorus part also. But I partly agree, the last verse is more from the male point of view, so the last chorus could be sung only by the male vocalist(s). Janne

Janne,
I'll leave it to others to discuss the lyric content and theme! I like the backtrack you've constructed especially The Cajon folk drums! Melody and chord structure are excellent as usual with your tunes!
Thanks, TB

Thanks Torrey, I appreciate your heartwarming comment Glad you liked the Cajon drums, for some reason I have preferred more calm, folky RDs recently. Janne

It looks like I'm about a month late here. Sorry about that.
I like the opening lines: No more break-up songs no more heartsick blues all the million ways to say goodbye have been used
Good!
I'm with Ray about the harmony singer.
I see this as a song in a musical.

Asterian as Tom Waited..... Dcuny Nailed it
That was interesting. Some rather interesting, unique and quite unexpected musical choices.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
