There was a year in the early '90s where my band played every Arizona county fair. The Masters of Bluegrass probably played half of them so we hung out a lot. I never travelled those years without a mandolin, ready to pull it out whenever Jesse wanted to share the gold—which he did now and then.

Although Country Gentleman was Chet Atkins title, a lot of people also used that term to describe Jesse McReynolds, myself included.
