Hello, New to BIAB, but with (many) years of MAO practice on a Mac, I spend my time looking for functions that are essential to me, but not easy to find in the manual! I'm working on a piece with a 24-bar intro at a tempo of 100 in the quarter note and a 32-bar theme at 138 in the quarter note. I've tried in vain to find a way of managing tempo changes, because if I use the Tempo function in the bar settings, I set 100 at bar 1 and 138 at bar 25, but this only works if I play the song from the beginning. If I start in the middle of a part, it takes the default tempo of the song. How can I avoid having to enter the tempo change in each bar? For example, select a group of bars and apply a tempo to it? Thanks in advance for your help Eric

If you change the tempo in the Bar Settings window, it should stay at that tempo until you change it again in the Bar Settings of a future bar. Is this where you are changing it?

Yes, it's in this window, but as I said, it only works if you play from the beginning of the song. But if you start playback between 2 changes, the tempo is set to the song's overall tempo.

That's not expected behaviour, and not what happens in my testing. When you start playback from the middle of the song, Band-in-a-Box looks back and uses the most recent tempo in the song. Try this as a test:
- Start a new song file. 1 - 32 x 1 at 100BPM - On bar 5, change the tempo to 200 BPM - On bar 9, change the tempo to 50 BPM - Start playback by double-clicking on bar 2 - song should play at 100. - Start playback by double-clicking on bar 6 - song should play at 200. - Do the same at bar 10 - song should play at 50.
Is it working? Are you doing something different in your song?
Indeed, following your tutorial it works perfectly. I'll have to look in the song where I had this problem. I have the same problem with styles changes. When a bar is affected by such a change (tempo or Style), it is underlined with a red line. Is there a way of reinitializing all these changes?

I'm moving! I found the function to delete changes, but it was ambiguous! In English, the function is called "Clear all measures", but in French it says "effacer toutes les mesures" which means "delete all measures", which was rather worrying!
For the tempo change, re-initializing all the bars and resetting the tempos works! 1 point! But for style changes it's weird: My 18-bar intro is in the jazz ballad style at a tempo of 60, then bars 20 and 21 change to a bossa style at 140 (2 bar break) - bar 22 start of the theme in the same bossa style
Well, I'm obliged to put the bossa style change back to bar 22, otherwise it's back to ballad style, but at 140!
