Far and away my wife's favorite song of mine and a lot of fun to play. Kinda a laid back song nothing to aggressive. Hope someone will enjoy it. I composed it in "GRUYPNO.STY and added live tracks for a couple of stems. Drums (which I usually replace) stayed in and may be the best drums I've heard in BiB. Maybe a tad too long at 3 1/2 min?

Diamond Ring

I heard you’re getting married in the springtime
You found someone whose love’s really true
I always wanted to marry in the springtime
But I always thought I’d be marrying you

I was a fool to cheat on your love dear
It wasn’t much more than a casual thing
Now I just heard you’re getting married
Guess I’ll just go and pawn this diamond ring
Guess I’ll just go and pawn this old thing

I hope you’ll be happy with your new love
In the beauty of springtime you’ll say I do
And I’ll be left standing in the shadows
Holding this ring I was saving for you

I was a fool to cheat on your love dear
It wasn’t much more than a casual thing
Now I just heard you’re getting married
Guess I’ll just go and pawn this diamond ring
Guess I’ll just go and pawn this old thing

Rick, 3.5 minutes is not to long for a song.

Loved the vocal and lyrics.
Super backing band.
Great chord progression.
Great ending and super mix.

Loved it.

It's a cool song but something tells me it needs a little more work on the mix as the sax seems to be in a different room and the intro piano struck me as a little fuzzy.

Cheers

Good song, Rick, and it was a nice change in production intensity between the v and C. Would like to see the lyrics listed with it either in the SoundCloud link or in your BIAB post. Keep up the good work!

Rick ...

A really, really nice song! Your vocal suits the "color" of the song. 3.5 minutes is not too long for a song - especially when it's this good.

I echo what Ray said about the lead break, but everything else is superbly mixed. I particularly enjoyed the varying sections - kept everything fresh and exciting. very nice, indeed.

Your wife has good taste!

Great song and an excellent production.

I see from the photo that you teamed up with Billy Gibbons.

How in the world did you pull that off??

Cool song. Your voice is so unique.

Totally enjoyed it.

The guitar solo was a bit wet with reverb.. that one sounds like it was played by you. Loved those ending accents

LOL Emery Leech was (is) a unique individual. I always had a 3 piece outfit and during his time with me he held the bottom end like nobodys business. Back in that day 5 min.endings where in style, ala Grand Funk, and I could always count on him to be there till the last power chord crash. Lost touch with him over the years but never forgot him. Thanks for the kind words on the tune, it meant a lot.

I like it! Nice write, good singing, good arrangement.

Certainly not too long.

And I agree the sax could be better placed in the mix. The fade is a bit sudden.

So yes - I enjoyed it. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Not too long at all.

Two verses and a chorus work for us ...
often all that's needed (we did that with our current production).

Nice track choice, lyric, vocal and mix.

We enjoyed it!

Hi Rick.
It's a really nice song. I second the comment re the verb. Sounds a little like the vocal is in a different room to the band too.
Fix that and it'll sound much better.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
