So I have a count in, 1, 2, 3, 4 and I start playing along. That's great - most of the time.

The problem comes when I am working with a faster tune. I can find it difficult to click the play button, pick up the plectrum and position myself ready to play along

Anyone got any smart ideas or work-rounds for this problem?

Thanks in advance!

I would eliminate the count-in and have only the drums play for 4 or as many measures as you need. After your song is complete you can delete those drum only measures.

My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Isn't there a two bar count-in option?
That would double it at least.
Also, In Realband (not sure about BiaB) there is an option to have the metronome count in before the song starts, even if you do have a 2 bar count in (giving you three bars essentially).

I usually assume Beginners Forum is for BiaB, since you can't learn RB without 'beginning' in BiaB.

You can use AutoHotkey with a timer delay then it will send Play to Biab.
Install www.autohotkey.com then set C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\AutoHotkey.exe to Run As Administrator by right click, if Biab is set to run as administrator.
Set play head to first bar then press Play Delay.

Sleep, 4000 is the delay amount.

Copy and save to text file Biab Play Delay.ahk then double click to run.
Code:
#NoEnv
#SingleInstance Force

Gui, +AlwaysOnTop

Gui, Font, S10 cBlue Bold, Arial
Gui, Add, Text, x10 y10, Some Text

Gui, Add, Button, x10 y30 h38 w130 gAction01, Play Delay

Gui Show, w300 h100, GUI Window Name

Return

Action01:
winactivate, ahk_class TBandWindow
Sleep, 4000
Send, {SPACE}

Return

Just downloaded the latest AutoHotkey, which is version 2.0, and I get the error message that is needs version 1.1.37.01

It prompted me to install version 1.1.37.01 so I had it also installed and it works good but was wondering why it does not work with version 2 by itself.

I have been using version 1 for everything, once ver 2 has settled in for a while I might move to that. There are converters to convert a ver 1 script to ver 2.

Musocity:

Found a converter and ran it on your script. It runs fine under under version 2 after conversion.

Thanks for the tip.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
