Cool song. Has a kind of ARS feeling to it.
It'll be interesting when you get the final mix.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Hi Torrey ...
I like it a lot. The b/g vocals are sweet. Loved that part at 2:03 - that sweeping-panned phase on the guitar was really cool! Nice arrangement. You are very innovative and have that knack for the little things that bring great dimension to a song.
As far as things I noted you might choose to consider on your tweaks:
1. Perhaps a little less high-end EQ on the vocal 2. Bring the bass a little more forward. It's my opinion that swing songs have a better drive and fuller dynamics when pushed by a strong bass 3. Maybe more punch on the kick drum. BIAB's indigenous 5-band EQ plug is really good for that effort
Just my thoughts about those things. Feel free to ignore if they don't fit in with your vision for the song.
Can't wait to hear the final "tweaked" version!
Best to you ...
Alan
PS: Many thanks for your kind words on "Complete Surrender".

Hi Torrey Glad to hear you are feeling better and better !
This is already a great song. But since you asked us for the opinion, there are two points that I would definitely change:
1. the drums, that sounds way too electronic. There must be a cool, fat drum sound. And that must not be mixed as quietly as the current. 2. the rhythm guitar must be mixed louder in any case.
I wouldn't change the intro at all, because it's top. The ending is also cool.
Maybe you can do something with the suggestions. Have fun with the completion of this great song
Many greetings Andi ;-)

Thanks Alan! The bass is about as loud as I can get it without introducing clipping in the mix.

Andi, thanks for the listen! I don't agree with you about the drums! I might have a minority option here but I like the sound of them and that's why I used them as I stated! I hear so many songs here that have a big drum sound that also sound dull and cloud the mix. That was definitely not the sound I wanted here! For this song I wanted a more crisp clean sound. As for the guitars, I have about 4 or 5 rhythm tracks going and will be working to decide which of them need to be louder without making the mix muddy! I really wanted to have a more acoustic guitar driven rhythm sound and not so much a heavy hard rock sound for this song!

Hello Torrey believe me, I don't like a dull drum sound either ;-) But anyway... I'm curious how your song will develop further
