He lost me a minute in when he brought up Stevie Ray Vaughn. Some self proclaimed youtube guitar hero should never mention someone of SRV's stature in a video with some English chump, particularly when the theme of the video is to dissuade people from developing a skill.

Plus you need to define what you think ear training is. Ear training to me is when somebody plays a chord to begin a song and I can identify the key and know what chords will be following barring an attention getting out of series chord tossed in for flavor.

Once again, there is no fast forward button on the experience machine. Learn music, play songs made from that music, develop that skill naturally.

I hate this microwave world where everybody wants everything NOW without putting in the work.

As long as music newbies want to learn songs rather than music, these "How do I..." posts that are posted by people who essentially want us to practice for them are going to continue. The answer to every question is "Put in the time, pay your dues." That youtube click bait "Make sure you like, share and subscribe" (so I make more money from ad revenue) mentality is really harmful because people are posting that are not qualified to teach anybody anything.

I stand on this soap box a lot but it's because of how passionately I believe in learning the right way.
