Re: Not Buying Another Upgrade Until BIAB is 64 Bit. This was just another long thread of users wanting the bleeding obvious, 64bit.

It was an obvious thing to do, but it, like other things were fought against for so long until apple banned 32bit then instantly Biab was made 64bit along with RealBand that hardly crashes now it's 64bit, why does Biab have to be way behind all the time ? shouldn't it be out there leading the way attracting younger users ? It should not be a massive fight all the time with big long threads and PG saying "Oh no we don't need that, it's fine with J-Bridge.." then years n years later they do that.
It should be a no brainer, just get in there and do it, lead the way, don't wait 10 years after everyone else has done it to implement an industry standard thing.

band in a box GUI

This forum is populated by old guys and I'm one of them. Simple as that. Old guys talking about old country music. It used to be jazz but these forums haven't been jazz orientated for years now.
...
See a pattern here? It's old and more old.

That's the problem with young people popping in briefly and leaving imho. An old looking GUI being talked about by their parents (or grandparents) and referencing ancient music to do it. What 25 year old cares about that? As far as they're concerned it's an old program for old people.

Quote:
...You can keep making it for Older People because they do eventually die off, Cerio was referring to his students 90% give up learning biab finding it too difficult,..

You can see this very thing happen over the last few years in the forum.

The BBPlugin should be independent to Biab application.
It should have it's own website and be given another name like "Session Tracks Pro" rather than: "Band In A Box, "old program for old people"" to attract a new DAW only, studio and younger audience.

On it's own website it will be crossplatform Win Mac, released at the same time, same features, same crossplatform install packages, same crossplatform common audio file format compressed and uncompressed.
Plugin/Plugin Standalone.
The current functions in the Plugin will be moved into the Plugin code not needing bbw4, then other functions can be added over time.
Guys, it's no brainer.

You can leave the PG site looking like this:

But create a professional website for the Session Tracks Plugin like these Pro sites:

Use some RealMusicians rather than cartoon silhouettes:

You want to get away from any remnant of this, programming and graphically:

There are so many users lost now from these forums. The Plugin needs to be a whole new drawcard for a new generation of new users, but you don't want to go off half cocked again, it needs to work properly with all it's own code independent of the old bbw running in the background limiting it in performance and many other ways. True crossplatform.

This is the webpage for the BBPlugin, nothing to get excited about really

It doesn't take much to make something more modern:

As the mock up website shows:
More Sounds
More Instruments
Infinite Possibilities

This applies to the Pluggin as there is so much material being release.
I think there will be more complex recorded material with more chords so it's not substituting any.
The same instrument FX/DI used for substyles/patterns/solos so the one instrument is used on the one track playing differently in different sections keeping the same sound rather than just A section or B section option.
Integrating with something like Melodyne (alternative) down the track.

All of this in a studio environment will give so much creative control with 24bit 48k audio, all RealDrum Stems, all time signatures.
It would have to become an industry standard goto for any studio.

Guys, you need to look way beyond Band In A Box, a fun thing for learning and practicing.
Look at it as any world class session musician at you finger tips, in any DAW and any studio.

I think the BBPlugin is taking longer than we thought as they are most likely creating the Live Arranger using the BBPlugin Standalone, or maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part frown

RapidComposer v5 beta feedback, discussion and development

This is open Beta testing of new v5 RapidComposer.
There is a back n forth flow, not waiting another year for something to be fixed or added because you can't get the point through in the mad few day beta test rush.

How do I just apply the LFO to the selected note only or time selection ?

You are right, this did not work in the phrase editor.
I added fixes so that when you select a note, the LFO is applied on the note only (for the note duration), not the phrase.

When working in a track there is an option to use the timeline selection:
