Likely the notes have been recorded to a different track than you are viewing in notation.
Since you can hear the track being played, you can confirm this by pressing SOLO on the mixer to solo the track. If you no longer hear the track, then you have recorded it onto a different track and you can trace that by soloing different tracks until you hear it. You can do the same test using mute buttons to mute tracks if you prefer.
