I have an extremely jaded view of Patreon overall because it is kind of a form of extortion. "Come and see the LONGER version of this video, exclusively offered to those of you who give us even MORE of your money so we can all be millionaire millennials by age 30." It is the internet version of panhandling at the end of an exit ramp. Knowledge should be shared with everybody, not just those willing to shell out even more money than we pay every year for a product that functionally does not really change or see major upgrades. (Like new real guitar tracks from anybody but Brent Mason. We have 288 from him already. Go look it up.) Every year we see "1000 new styles!" that are mainly repacks of the ones that have been there for decades. (See my tale of woe in trying to find a style in the Real Band Wish List forum.)

This is similar to what would be considered segregation if we were talking about race. "YOU can come in, but YOU can't."

I mean, now I have to pay to TALK to you like I have been doing in the forums for years?

My opinion is that this is a very bad idea because it creates a caste system. This place is clique driven enough without creating yet another layer.
