I don't like to play very loud.

When Mrs. Notes and I do our sound check, we keep the volume at the table closest to the speakers to 85dba or less. Any more than that can damage the hearing of our audience.

We are the professionals, and we feel it is our responsibility to do no harm to our audience.

If they ask us to crank it up, we will, but then it's their choice, not ours.

BTW, I used to own a sailboat. It was a 24' sloop, and it sailed very well. But as they say, the two greatest days were the day I bought it, and the day I sold it.

But I had a lot of fun for a few years between those dates.
