biab 2020, updates installed. Windows 10 64-bit.
Coming back to use this software. Problems right away:
Style picker doesn't work. Select a style, click ok, style in my song doesn't change. This should work, obviously, but so should a simple double-click to select.
Setting a favorite style doesn't work. Pick a style, set as a favorite. Go to the main page, Style/Favorite Styles, select the favorite you just selected, says "Can't find the file ... ". Seriously? It just let me choose the style, played a demo, and it can't find it???

Have you tried shutting down BiaB and re-booting your machine to start clean?
Just a thought.

I would try Options > Return to factory Settings > Most

In addition to the suggestions above, open the Style Picker and click the Rebuild button at the bottom. Rebuilding should generally be done after installing anything for Band-in-a-Box.

Good advice so far. I wonder about one other possibility.
The post says "coming back to use this software" and you are now using version 2020. Does that mean you updated from a version before version 2018?
If so, in 2018, substantial changes were made to the folder structure of BIAB. If the program is not finding something, I wonder if it would help to run the Cleanup utility? It cannot hurt to try doing so.
Try Help, Utilities, Run Cleanup Routine.
Also, then do this:
File, File Utilities, Associate File Types

yes, update from 2018, and 2018 was updated from several earlier versions.
Thanks for the tips on clean up and file associations. Led me to the Rebuild button at bottom of StylePicker dialog, which worked. There are more than 10000 styles in the C:\bb\Styles folder, and initially showed only 22 of them (this was due to the default Style filter settings).
Some of the 1000 styles are very old, dating from 2002!
A few quirks, observations:
The style filter Type has two All settings, but defaults to All (Real first, MIDI sorted at the bottom). The selection is not shown in the heading (like TimeSig or Tempo). Drove me crazy trying to get the style columns sorted, until I selected the other All.
The filter results include some non-types. For example, filtering on "Blues" includes some Country, Lite Pop, etc. In some cases, it seems to be including the Other Genres in the filter?
If I select Blues in the filter list, it automatically selects "Everything Pop" also - but those styles don't appear in the listing. Similarly, if I select Celtic in the filter list, it automatically selects "Everything Country" - but those styles don't appear in the listing.
The "Include Similar" switch doesn't seem to work with the filter settings. If not selected, the listing for Celtic seems correct (about 17 listings). If selected, it shows everything -- ignoring the filter. Same for other styles. I'm not sure what results to expect here.
