Hi All,

It's been a while I know, but a lot has happened in the two years since I last posted a song, and this is my first
since then. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on New Year's Eve 2021 and underwent surgery on 1st April 2022.
Following a slow recovery, I'm very pleased to now be free of cancer and I've turned my attention to doing what I like most of all, namely writing and recording songs and instrumentals.

So here is my latest song which I finished recording two weeks ago and which is to be released on 6th October.
It was written in Spring 1972 following the break up of my first relationship, and it portrays the intense emotional
effects this had on my 17-year old self. I've performed the song many times on vocal and guitar over the years, but I always harboured the wish of recording it with a lush strings arrangement, and thanks to BIAB 2023, that is now possible of course.

I chose a tempo of 85bpm and an ev16 rhythm.
Vocals and electric guitar are added by me.
Drums, Bass, Dreamy Elec Guitar & String quartet are from the JBALLAD.STY
Piano is from the PNO16BR.STY
Acoustic Guitar strumming is from the PMODGR1.STY

I prefer to use Audacity to mix and edit rather than Realband.
Hope you enjoy it.

That's a great rhythm section. Had me hooked right off. I too prefer mixing in Audacity.

#58: Bring consciousness to it.

#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

First and foremost I'm glad that you are cancer free. Welcome to the cancer survivors' club.

This is a great song.
Great vocal, lyrics, and guitar.
Super mix.

PS - I almost forgot, welcome back.

Yessss!
Beat that C into next week and keep on kicking it down the road.

Good starting song to the way forward.
My only sugg would be to fade the strings a little in parts where they interfere with the vocal.

Vic

Hello Andi,

A nasty story about yourself. Hope it goes well by now.
And a sad, but entertaining lovestory in your very nice song.
Your vocals are very good!
I agree with Vic about the strings, but they complement the song well.

Hope to hear more from you,
Hans

Great that you are doing so well.
That backstory really added to the emotive vocal delivery.
And you did a fine job with the strings.

Nice!

The strings add the right touch.
Smooth melody.
Very well done. Congratulate your 17-year-old self.

Lush and nostalgic, perfect fit for a rainy and windy Autumn day. The chord progression reflects the break-up mood in a way I really like. Your guitar and the band play together seamlessly, the strings work well. Emotional vocals. Hope that the recovery inspires you to write many new songs.

I got a Pink Floyd feel from this. I like the mellow feel to this.

Nice to see you back in the saddle again.
