Regarding emulating the great players who made the real tracks:
I doubt if that's his intent. The real tracks are great for background stuff, but if you need specific notes it is useful to have the same instrument in order to add exactly what you need. I do it all the time with other instruments that are RealTracks. (guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro)

It's especially useful for instruments that aren't your primary instrument... ones you can play, but not well enough to "nail" the take without a lot of editing or retakes. Just let the Real Tracks nail the part.. then go back with the REAL instrument and add the notes needed for melodies, harmonies etc. Quick, easy and blends right into the mix.
