Anyone use it? It's for sale at 50% until the end of the month at the NI site. I have Vi.One, so I qualify for a $140 upgrade. But, I can't get a feel for how good the included library is and that's the main selling point to me. I'm not a keyboard player, so I don't see the editing features as being a big deal. Any opinions on it would be appreciated!

I recently bought Kontakt 4 for $379, at $140 it's an absolute steal. I recently bought a new computer, and Iam coming from what I thought was the best soundfonts you could find. I have been collecting and editing soundfonts for over ten years. The quality of the Kontakts samples are light years ahead of my soundfont collection. Iam not very deep into the editing at this time, however the morphing feature( which can be set up automatically, if desired ) is a teriffic feature that gives you smooth transitions between velocity layers. The instrument view for each of the libraries instruments is very intuitive and easy to tweak basic parameters. Of course, sound is subjective and in the ears of the listener. Iam a Jazzer( swing, be-bop ) so what I like is not necessarily to someone elses taste. Does this library satisfy all my wishes? Even at 43GB the answer is no. Is it a great library with fabulous sound quality? Yes ( Iam dissapointed that there is no vibraphone). Iam using Kontakt 4 in Realband without any problems. I would buy it again even for $379, at $140 I wouldn't hesitate for a second.....Bobby

Thanks! The morphing feature sounds interesting. I really wish NI had more demos of the some of those features and sounds.

Kontakt 3.5 is my main sound source. The patches sound fantastic plus there is a ton of tweaking you can do to each patch. Plus there are a ton of third party sounds you can purchased. I would go for it. I have and I’m waiting for the upgrade as I type.
Good luck.

Check out Kontakt 4 on youtube, quite a few demos. Not sure if they are the same ones on the Native instruments site....Bobby
