FWIW I tend to stay somewhat current … at least for a 78 year old  Ipad: 2013 3rd Gen iPad > 2019 7th Gen (discontinued 2020) running IOS 17.03 (latest) —- never found an incompatible app. Mac: 2011 Mac > 2017 Mac > 2023 Mac mini M2 Pro iPhone: every other year since first release … mainly to stay current with camera advances as my Nikon and bag of lenses has been relegated to the closet.
