The thing I actually found the most fascinating is not so much the overall effect, but rather how this version threw away every, single chord of the original without changing a single note of the melody to make it fit - and yet it works flawlessly!  As someone who likes messing about with arrangements, I simply cannot wrap my head around just how in the world they pulled that off 
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
