Pat,

I use a hardware synth here, which is a midi synth (Tyros). It connects to my laptop via USB for its midi connection. In Biab, I have the Yamaha USB Midi selected for both my midi input and output driver. The Tyros' line output (1/4" rca cables) are connected to my soundcard (Yamha Audiogram). If I use the mouse to press a note on the Biab keyboard, I can hear it. Same with the midi drum window inside of Biab. I get sound.

What are you using for your midi sounds there? Are you using the VSC or Forte DX Instrument for playback? If so, you have to check mark the "use VST/DXi synth" in the midi driver set up. The DXi then acts like audio, not midi, because it is a software synth. In order to hear a DXi synth in realtime, you will need an ASIO driver in your Audio set up in Biab. If those are set up correctly in Biab, you will need to check your Windows mixer to make sure you have the Wave slider up and not muted.

Biab uses both Audio and Midi drivers for playback and recording with. Remember that VST/DXi are controlled as audio, even though they are actually playing midi.
