Playing one of my songs I notice the volume of several notes at the end of a phrase or bar have deficient or reduced volume. Is there an easy way to increase the volume of these notes?

Thank you.

If it is MIDI you can increase the velocity under those notes to make them louder.

If it is RealTracks or audio you can use volume automation to increase the volume of those notes. If you are not familiar with volume automation just click on help>index and type in volume automation in the search window and it will tell and show you everything you need to know.

Good luck.

Yes. we would need to know more. If it is MIDI, there are several ways to do this. I prefer to be in Editable Notation Mode and right-click on a note head, then adjust the volume where 90 is the default and values range from 0 to 127 (loudest). Another method involves the Piano Roll editing.

If you are using MIDI, in the Piano Roll with with View/Edit: Velocity selected, you can create a linear curve on a group of notes to adjust them all simultaneously if required:

Thank you all. I'll attempt some of these. I am beginning to think I am not smart enough for this program.

Don't give up. We all started just like you. BiaB is a very complicated piece of software but when taken in small bites you will master what you need out of it. Everyone is different in that some do everything in BiaB while others like myself start in BiaB then move on to the DAW of their choice.

A major plus is everyone on the forums is very friendly and helpful. If you are stuck just ask. I have learned a lot from the forum members. You will also and in a very short time you will giving advice to new users also.

So don't give up and have fun.

MarioD,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am not a newbie. My 2020 BIAB is my third if not fourth iteration of the program. My needs and wants are simple; I do not intend to make songs that are near studio productions. I mainly want to record the 250 to 300 songs that I have written so that they will be saved and printable. I do this:

Type in the chords.
Set the tempo.
Select a Style to start with.
Play the melody in using my Kurzweil K2600 XS.
Edit using the Kurzweil to replay flawed parts or use the notation by note option.
Put the lyrics in using the note-based method.
Try to get the song to end at the right place.
Change the style if I think it needs it.
Save it.

There are so, so many glitches along the way. Audio Track (above) tried to help me the other day. I tried to edit a lyric using all his recommendations and any I could find that I could understand. The song was missing one word and would not take the word and it is still there on the HD that way. Just an empty space.

I have tried to change styles searching by styles. Brick wall. I can load the style picker window, but if I am looking for a particular style, even when I know the name, it is impossible. I have reset my BIAB settings back to the original. That cleared up a couple of minor glitches.

I use the ChatGPT and the AI on my Microsoft Edge home page, but though they always give an answer (some help, a lot don't), it usually comes with the caveat, "If this doesn't help contact PGMusic or the manuals."

Maybe PGMusic should make a simple version for people who only want to do the things I am trying to do. If I ever get the songs entered and safely recorded, then I would like to go on to the higher-level ways to improve the song.

Thanks again.

I finally gave up on note based lyrics and now use the bar based method.

I'll admit that the bar-based lyrics are much easier. However, I do not like the way they look on the screen. They are tiny in the little bands at the top of each bar. Can this be adjusted? Can they be converted to bar-based lyrics? How do bar-based lyrics look when you print a song? I haven't tried that yet.

So many questions...

Thanks.
