Soprano, Concert and Tenor are all tuned the same by default, gCEA. When I first considered a ukulelee, I thought I'd need a tenor because my fingers are a bit 'chunky', but I went to the local ukulele group and they were very willing to ley me try a selection ... actually they almost insisted ... I think you can't go to a ukulele group without a ukulele and not have one offered.

I found there was very little difference, for me at least, between concert and tenor. Soprano was also OK, though I'd struggle a little more with a few chords in getting three fingers on the same fret. I plan soon to get a waterproof ukulele to take on the boat and I expect that to be a concert.

When Sue and I started I bought both ukuleles, a tenor for me, a concert for Sue, and we can swap when we wish.
