I just stumbled across this one. Found a SGU of a song (Mr Bojangles)in my archives I wanted to make a backing track.
Not my work- Something somebody else did years ago.
It was a nice set of changes even a few altered harmonies from the simple way Jerry Jeff played.

While changing styles, adding intro and additional real tracks etc in biab I noticed the arrangement had some tell tale red underlines on the last few bars of the song.
Played it and noticed a nice ritard over 3-4 bars leading to a held chord (tonic) at the end.
Sounded great.

It was so simply done.
In the bar settings (F5) the arranger had just put in a 10bpm decrease in tempo change each bar leading up to the end.
At the tempo I was working (130) it worked quite nice. I changed the last bar to a held chord and it sounds great.

A nice swell of the pedal steel and it sounds right out of austin.
Of course I added the Ray Charles touch with a Fender Rhodes.

A simple trick easy to implement and very nice result.
Thanks to whomever.
Should have figured that out a decade ago.
