Hi,

Yes, we are working on making the new RealTracks for the Mac, although we don't pre-announce specific release dates or new features.

That's consistent with what PG has said before, and I suppose I can understand not announcing release dates for brand new versions or major upgrades. I'd like to suggest, though, that styles and RealTracks are a different matter, and that it would be much in PG's interest to offer Mac users access to the latest RealTracks at the same time that it makes them available to Windows users. Or at the very least, shortly thereafter.

I'd suspect that anybody who bought the Mac version of BIAB a couple of months ago -- knowing the Mac version didn't have all the Windows features but at least had all the styles and tracks -- would be disappointed to find that two months later, there are more than 100 new RealTracks available to Windows users only. And if he paid several hundred bucks for the Mac version, as I did, he might well be rethinking his decision. I'd also suspect that, until the Mac version has all the latest RealTracks, sales are going to slow down. Anybody thinking about buying the Mac version would have to wonder, as David J. does, if now is a good time.

Bottom line: I can wait for Mac BIAB 2010.5 or 2011, and I don't care if the release date is top secret. But really, would it be that hard to offer the 101 new RealTracks on a CD or DVD in a Mac audio format, call it some kind of a Mac summer plus-pak, charge a reasonable price for it, and come out with some kind of a Mac patch to accommodation the new tracks? I think it would only be fair -- to PG's Mac customers, and to PG's own long-term interests.
