Super nice song in every respect. Very cool production, the band sounds perfect. Vocals are really, REALLY strong. All this AND a message. Had to listen to it twice. Thanks for posting!

Dan, you keep posting winner after winner after winner.
I liked that ol' time gospel feel in this one.
Outstanding vocal and harmonies.
Outstanding message also.
You all should be very proud of this one.

That's what I get for listening and writing notes and later going back to post! Sheesh.
I deleted it ... apologies.

LOVE the (almost) a Capella intro, that was a great idea and is very well sung!
And again the key-changed chorus...coooool stuff.
Very nice and uplifting vibe.
I like it.
A lot!

Pickin' people up. Yep. that's sounds like a subtest of your life, Dan. You are good at that, and I thank you.

Man, you write good stuff in many genres --all with the knack of pickin' us all up. And The Modulation King comes through everytime.

The harmonies are terrific. The whole song has a good bounce to getting people up and dancing. So, yeah, you can pick 'em up in many ways.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Dan,

I read all the posts here and I can agree with all of them.
But that is not a miracle...
I like this style, the vocals and harmonies as I told you a lot of times.
I enjoyed that break towards the end when you used less instruments. Very nice!
And about the lyrics: picking people up instead of putting people down is the best we can hope for and do.
Especially in these darker days...
So, (again) a very good song from you, Gene and Bob!

Hans

Dan,

This is great.

It is my own "golden rule" of sorts. I always tell people that I am coaching that when you are interacting with someone, there can be only one of two outcomes (and it will never be neutral):

1. They will walk away feeler bigger than they were before they talked to you.
2. They will walk away feel smaller than they were before they talked to you.

Those who get #1 most if not all of the time are the most successful people I know, in every way imaginable.

Those who get #2 are the biggest losers I know, and have the most problems in every area of their life.

It really is that simple.

This "golden rule" works as well for the giver as for the receiver.

I tell people if they only get that right, they will usually get almost everything else right too.

J&B, floyd, Peter, Brian, Marty, Hans and David...I am humbled and so very encouraged by all of your comments...thanks for taking the time to respond to this little song and not only commenting on the music but also the message...the simple "golden rule", to do unto others as you would have them do unto you...when it comes to the 'horizontal relationships" we have in this life it is the secret to successful living as David says so well in his comments...you all have shared such great music and I have benefited from it...so I love to give back what others have sewn into my life...I treasure this community of "songsters"...thanks again everyone...Dan

Yep, if everyone thought of practicing good karma to “reap what they sow” the world would be a nicer place.

Another example of fine gospel vocals, tight harmonies, interesting arrangement and a good mix to go along with the gospel lesson.

Well done!

J&B
