Floyd.
As a writer of gloomy, sombre songs I still can appreciate well produced happy ones.
Thumbs up from me.

It does the job, Floyd, of putting feel-good into love. Some songs, like this one, are simple and sing-able while putting a smile on the listener's face. Good co-write to be sure.

A couple of examples? Elvira - The Oak Ridge Boys - 1981 or Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus - 1992
The second one sounds more modern to me, but Elvira (which I probably would have put in the late 50s/early 60s as well) does sound like your song, so of course you're right.
I guess it's a cultural thing. Unless you pick a specific country station, you usually don't hear any country stuff on the radio in my neck of the woods, except for a few old things here and there when someone has died.

Darn catchy tune. It has the right dose of cliches to make this a big hit.

Production and band sound ace. The BGVs sit just right in the mix for me and sound rich. Hats off to the Janettes!

I never intended to imply that this was contemporary (did I do that?). But, I do think it's "fun". Thanks for listening.

Thanks, ray. I thought you might have something to say about the bass. I don't "know" bass and I struggle with getting it "right". It often gets away from me. I experiment more than I should.

Sometimes I get the feeling, that the moment when you try to apologize for a song or a lyric snippet is exactly the moment to realize, that you have created a really remarkable piece of music ... wink

I really like your song. It's catchy, fun and positive smile

Good tune, well executed!

I love songs that you open with a chorus. They're not all that common, but they immediately get the listener into the meaty part of the story telling.
This is a winner. Your and Janices vocals sit so well together!
Kudos to you and your two colleagues for creating a fine song.

All the best!

And, as Ron said, it's a real toe tapper. I enjoyed the listen.
And I think the line "you came along took what was wrong and made it right" is pretty cool!

I love your vocals, I love the Janettes, and thanks for the interesting story behind the resurrection of this song smile[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

FJ,
"You cannot help but think "...it took THREE songwriters to write THAT?!?"
LOL just from reading this! Ok, got to get to my "listening" mode.

FJ and Crew,
Fun, optimistic, easy listening tune. Well (re) arranged and recorded. Solid vocals and Janice is a perfect choice for song partner. Interesting back story and tech walkthrough. Good one, no pun intended. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

P.S. I have some tunes from ~25 years back, I am afraid to touch them, so thumbs up for bravery and skill in resurrecting this.

I would have loved to have been writing at the time I lived there. I think it was 1991. This is another one of many of yours that deserved to be cut by someone. I liked it, Tom

Thanks, Tom. It's a fun song, I've enjoyed reviving it.
1991 - that was the PERFECT time to be writing in Nashville. The beginning of what would be the best (and last) "Golden Age of Songwriting".
A shame you didn't stay. You've got all the right chops.
And we would have likely met, then....

Yep, the song is also wonderful. It says it all --in all the ways. Terrific harmony from Mrs. Wonderful. Hats off to Danny for curating all the catchy stuff. Man, it only took three of ya to write that? Seriously folks, it IS quite catchy and hooky --not hokey at all. Hats off to the 4 of you.

Know what you mean about "sort of" separating the stems. Man, I saw the making of The Beatles new one, Now And Then, and the quality of separation of vocal from piano from John's old cassette is amazing. There is hope for the future.

Appreciated, Marty...

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
