Hi Alan and Di. This is me settling down and getting ready to listen to your song... ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=25781&filename=listening with headphones and closed eyes small image.jpg) This is me when I start listening to Di sing... ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=25782&filename=wow with eyes wide open.png) Honestly, and without any hint of hyperbole, this is fantastic! The song is written and arranged with so much skill that it overflows with pizzazz. And Di's vocals! They're extraordinary. Di delivers every word with full command of her voice over every musical nuance. Her singing mesmerised me, and I was left filled with admiration. Oh... and I've never heard the line "nibble on your ear" in a song before! I was a little bit envious that you two had come up with such a good lyric This is fine music in every way. Both of you have managed to conquer that elusive "it" factor. I'm still humming it! --Noel P.S. This is me after writing this review... ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=25783&filename=replay small image.jpg) Noel ... Has anyone told you you are much too kind? Your review put a big smile on my facer. And Di said if her health wasn't so crappy, she'd jump up and shout. But that would definitely put her in the hospital for weeks! We're not only thrilled and awed by your review; we are also extremely humbled. Di is a 77 year-old lady who didn't know she had a great singing voice until she was in her early 60s. And I'm a music illiterate - don't know or intentionally do scales. the only scales I know how to use are at the meat and produce market. I neither read nor write notation. what i di know is how to play the guitar pretty good and chord structures. Chord patterns come to me instinctively. I know what they're going to sound like before I even play them. Somehow I mash all that together and sometimes create something worth listening to. Anyway, we are sincerely appreciative of your very kind and encouraging words. Please accept our humble "Thank You!". Alan & Di

Hi Alan,
I really enjoyed this song and the excellent vocals.
Shame you don't have the original stems (including vocal tracks) because I would love to hear Di's vocals louder but it still sounds great.
Best Regards Nigel Nigel, Thank you so very much. Once upon a time we had the stems and backed them up on a thumb drive. Then our old laptop had a major failure, destroying the hard drive, the thumb drive, and the external hard drive - rendered them corrupted such that an expert could not recover any of it. We lost the tracks/stems to about 30 - 35 songs. We took the laptop, thumb drive and external hard drive to a specialty facility that said we would not be charged if they couldn't recover the data. We got a refund! Anyway, many thanks. Hope all is well in the Land of Kiwis. Alan

Well, Di has a naturally nuanced delivery that is just so, so compelling I could listen to her sing anything. That's quite a gift. Great song, tastefully mixed, too. THANKS for preserving this and sharing! Hi Ron, Thabnk you so much! Your words are almost as good as an extra paycheck! We sincerely appreciate your very nice review. Alan

Alan & Di, this is one of my favorite songs from you two. Di nails the vocal and I love what she does at the tail end of the verse lines. Well written and mixed and I am happy to have heard it again, Tom

This is likeable from the very first note.

And yeah, she had a style that's very casual and plays with the delivery to an extent. Thanks for commenting on that. Best to you, Alan

This is the music we grew up with you - you, too, I would suspect. Too bad there's nothing like this these days. And we agree, that sax RT is great! Many thanks! Wishing you the very best ... Alan

We love Di’s voice and the playfulness in it on this song is such a joy!
The guys in the band sound like they’re having fun too and, wow, that sax is good. The mix is spot on all the way around.
The lyric is a perfect vehicle for Di to “do her thing” and we love this updated version too.
Hugs to Di!

J&B You're correct in your implication that Di likes to play with the melody and add her quirky little "add-ons" to the vocal. She used to enjoy our recording sessions. But, given her severe medical issues or recent years, she just sings on an online karaoke site. her voice isn't what it used to be, but stills pretty good. This is among the first dozen or so songs we created and mixed in BIAB. So your comment regarding the mix put a smile on my face. best to both of you, Alan

Hi Alan and Di,
You made this supersong in 2013 on BiaB? What a good one! The song has just the right tempo for the funny lyrics that are sung excellently by Di. Man, she had a great voice. Still crystal clear!
I really enjoyed this song, although I think I often have that opinion about your songs, Hans

I really enjoyed this song, although I think I often have that opinion about your songs, Hans Hi Hans, We actually recorded it in February of 2012 but didn't post it or register with BMI until 2013. We used version 11.5.. Back then, BIAB did a mid-year update. That explains the .5. We recorded this using an old HP ZV600 laptop. It had 1 meg of RAM, and a front bus speed of 33. I'm not sure, but I think the soundcard was Realtec. It had a gorgeous sound! We used that desktop (well 2 of them as one of them fried on us and we replaced it with the same model). As we still do today, we mixed it in Audacity. Audacity is the closest thing we've ever used for a DAW. No mixing board, either. I'm delighted you enjoyed the listen. Thanks for telling us. I'll be over tonight (tomorrow morning in The Netherlands) to listen and comment on your recent post. See ya then. Alan
