This song is beautiful music.
As always, your chord progressions flow so smoothly and so comfortably from chord to chord. It's a skill I admire greatly.
I love your music and your arrangements.

You mentioned, that Di's medical issues have keep you away from the forum for a while. I'm so sorry to hear this. Please pass on my best regards to Di smile I sincerely hope that you are doing okay, too.

The very best to both of you!

Hi Noel

Your visits always cheer me up! I look forward to reading your comments. I appreciate those very kind and encouraging words. I'm more than delighted you enjoyed it. Chord progressions and I seem to have a nice relationship. I neither read nor write notation. My ear and many years (since 1963) of playing have served me well.

Unfortunately, Di's health continues in a downward direction. I get exhausted a lot, but otherwise doing good. Thanks for the thoughts!

Wishing you everything good.

Alan

Hi Floyd

You are always so nice with your comments. I appreciate them more than you probably know. And yes, the BIAB software is wonderfully amazing. I've only scratched the surface of its capabilities. I'm totally ignorant of scales, notation, and musical theory. My approach is if it sounds good, I probably did okay.

Again, many thanks.

Wishing you the very best.

Your production sounded great. Loved it.

Vic,

It's always nice when my music can bring back a good memory. I've never seen her in person - perhaps I shall someday. I'm originally from St. Louis, Missouri and used to go to Scotty's International Steel Guitar Convention on many occasions. His first one was at a small fraternal organization's (American legion Hall) facility and had perhaps 75 - 100 attendees. It sure grew from there. He and I were friends until his passing.

I'm very happy you liked the song. I appreciate you saying so.

Best to you.

Alan

Late to the party and all the accolades have been served ... and well stated.

That use of the steel is one of the better solo RT presentations we've heard.
And you surround it in a fine mix of supporting goodness.

Best to you both!

Alan,

Another lovely instrumental track—expertly mixed. You do wonders with that pedal steel—very compelling. I also think that drum sounds just right in the mix (I always struggle with drums myself . . . but here it’s just perfect). Falls really easy on the ear. Like that Guitar solo an awful lot, too. Excellent work!

All my best to you and Di,

Deej

Well, you got here before locked the door threw out the leftovers. Thank you very much for those kind words. I've been a huge fan of the pedal steel for years. DeWitt Scott, who put on The International Steel Guitar Conventions in St. Louis was a friend of mind I bought a Gibson ES 175 and an ES335 from him (he had a store in Overland, MO - just west of St. Louis, back in the late 60s. Also bought a - get ready for it - A Standel guitar and Randall amp. The two Gibsons were a better choice - as was my Fender Twin Reverb.

I met many of the most popular steel players of the era through him, plus a number of country stars back then. But Buddy Emmons on ray price's Nightlife album sealed the deal for me.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me know.

Best to folks.

Alan

Hi, Alan.

Yep, super-late to the party, but still good music to be had.

Nice work - the instrumental hangs together well and it's a pleasant listen. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Grooooovy feel there, Alan. That pedal steel sounds great, then the guitar comes in sounding like a baritone with such good taste. A good mix too. Very creative tune. Sounds like that one guitar at the end didn't get the mastro's baton swipe to end it. I kinda like it playing as the "strings" fade, but it seems to be cut out abruptly instead of fading together. HAHA, that's just me trying to find something to critique. You left me no choice. laugh

Take care. Alan & Di.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Deej,

Hope all is well on the other sider of the Golden Gate. Thank you very, very much for all the accolades. This is one I dedicated a little more time to than many of my other tracks. I'm delighted it works for you. Thanks so much for letting me know that.

Beautiful calming chord progression leads to nice summer sunshine mood, I can imagine meadows and larks here in the middle of an approaching snow storm smile The pedal steel sounds dreamy and the baritone guitar complements it surprisingly well.

This tune evokes and floating and blissful mood.

I love the steel. Smooth transition to the electric guitar. And the same back to the steel.

Hi Janne,

Thank you so much for those very nice comments. I had to seasrch for quite some time to find a guitar that would seamlessly compliment the pedal steel. Thank you for mentioning it. I always enjoy your comments on my music!
