It was on November 22, 2003 that the group I was part of did our farewell concert...it was at the Orpheum Theatre in our home town...there were just over a thousand people gathered with us that night...it was amazing for ' Single Heart'...we had been together for over twenty years with a core group of Gene, Bob and myself and others that had joined us through the years...I wrote this song to be our final song...we sang it that night and it has never been performed since...so to celebrate it's 20th anniversary, I did a new track to accompany our twenty year old recorded vocals...that era of my life will be cherished as long as I live...by listening you will be celebrating it's anniversary with me...so if you do listen...thanks so much. Dan,
Man, do you know how to write and that voice - superb! The harmonies on the chorus are splendid. The strings and piano just sing out their contribution. What a great listen. If I had vocal chops like yours, I'd never quit singing.
You are one of my favorite vocalists on the forum. This song pretty much explains why I say that. How long was your group together? The harmony is so gorgeous.
Thanks for such a beautiful four minutes.
Wishing you everything good.

Well, now I know a song written in C#. Sounds great, strings are very nice. Vocals are, of course, fantastic. Full, solid harmonies. I really enjoyed this. My only nit (and it's a super-tiny one) is the last piano note seemed out of place. Love it!

Dan, what an outstanding song. Your vocals are always so strong. God blessed you with a great voice and you know how to use it to honor him. Great song and message as usual. Loved it.

Dan, this is a fantastic song performed by some fantastic voices. It is amazing that you are able to integrate 20 yr old vocals with such a well put together group of real tracks. Extremely well done, Tom

Dan,
A GORGEOUS, emotive vocal! Such a fine write. Really nice tracks. Terrific work on piano and strings. Excellent mix.
A BIG, dramatic Exit!
Stunning work.

Well, it bears repeating that this is a powerhouse vocal performance from beginning to end. A superb song to go out on as well, though its bittersweet that it is indeed an ending. The instrumentation sounds perfect to me, and never gets in the way of the vocals, even when it's ramping up the energy. Super nice you were able to pull this one back out after twenty years. Definitely worth the effort.

Beautiful! Great vocal and backing vocs as always. But I also appreciate the keyboard section you added. That very subtle and long tone sets in and then gradually builds up the modest, but very effective keyboard section. Great song build-up in general!

Two minutes into this I realized I was actually plastered to my chair. I felt heavy or something. It was because this is so outstanding. What incredible voices. AND THEN... whoa, the chills started. Man, I wish I could've witnessed that show. It reaches down deep inside as if touching my very soul. By the time it was over I was standing and applauding with tears in my eyes. The cats looked at me strangly. Nah, just kidding, Dan. Haha, not really; they did. This is fabulous.

We enjoyed the backstory and the production.
The dynamics in the vocals and band are very effective in giving a majestic feeling. We were pleasantly reminded of some of Elvis’s gospel performances.
Single Heart was a great name for y’all and those lovely, heartfelt harmonies are beautiful.

This is a gorgeous song and production. One of the cool things I like about a good southern gospel group is the beautiful and often unexpected chord changes and uses. This is a great example of that.
It's a shame that this song was only played one time.
Nicely done.

Dan,
The Beatles chose "Now and then" to be their final song as a group! I prefer your groups finale! The message is so much more important to me! I know it's a sad and bittersweet thing to have to come to the end of the road on our musical journey with those we create with! But PTL you ended with the perfect song! Dan this is truly excellence on display and something that should give a feeling of satisfaction as you look back on it! BUT......You're not done yet!!!! There's still much more beautiful music to make....At least until you are told from above to stop! That ending was awesome as well as everything before it!
Thanks, TB
